Officers Roles and
Responsibilities
TheGrand Knightis the Chief
Executive Officer of the Council and responsible for all
aspects of Council operation. He presides over Council
meetings and is ex-officio member of all committees.
TheDeputy Grand Knight
acts on behalf of the Grand Knight in his absence and serves
as General Programs Director of the Council.
TheChancellor is the third
ranking Council Officer. He oversees Vocations and
indoctrinating new members into Council activities.
TheRecorder keeps the
minutes of the meetings, conducts correspondence as directed
by the Grand Knight, and keeps official historic documents
of the Council. In the absence of the Grand Knight and
Deputy Grand Knight, he presides at Council meetings.
TheTreasurerkeeps
all funds, maintains the accounts of the Council, and issues
Council checks upon receipt of a proper voucher from the
Financial Secretary.
The
Advocateis the Chief Legal Officer of the Council,
resolving procedural matters, acting as parliamentarian, and
otherwise handling all legal activities.
TheWardenassures that all
members at meetings possess the current membership card. He
is custodian of all Council property except funds and
oversees properly setting up the Council Chamber. He directs
the activities of the Inside and Outside Guards.
TheInside Guard (1) andOutside Guards(2) are
charged with the security of the Council Chamber and assist
the Warden in meeting the duties of his Office.
TheTrustees(three in number)
oversee the financial transactions of the Council, review
all bills and financial reports and audit the Council's
financial records semi-annually.
The following are "Appointed"
Positions: The Chaplainprovides spiritual guidance to the Council.
TheFinancial Secretaryrecords all money transactions, issues and collects bills,
issues membership cards, and is otherwise responsible for
all financial matters of the Council except those allocated
to the Treasurer.
The
Lecturer provides education and entertainment
opportunities for the members such as guest speakers council
social events.
The
Membership Directoroversees all membership related
activities. Involved with recruiting and interviewing new
members and managing the flow of all new members through the
three degrees.
The Service
Program Directors: The
Parish Liaison Directoroversees and develops council
relations with the parish.
TheCommunications Directoroversees and directs the communications for the council via
email and updates the website.
The
Faith Directoroversees
and develops programs supporting the council’s faith
activities (Seminarian Support RSVP, Spiritual Reflection,
Building Domestic Church Kiosk, Columbus Day Mass,
Sacramental Gifts).
The
Family Directoroversees and develops programs
supporting the council’s family activities (Fun Fest,
Thanksgiving Turkey & Fixings, Consecration to the Holy
Family, Christmas Party, Food for Families/Food Shelf, Keep
Christ in Christmas).
The
Life Directoroversees and develops programs
supporting the council’s Pro-Life activities (Pro-Life
Breakfast, Ultrasound Program, Tootsie Roll Drive, Special
Olympics, Pregnancy Center SWOW, House of Hope, Pro-Life
Flags / Novena for Life).
TheCommunity Directoroversees and develops programs supporting the council’s
community activities (Free Throw Contest, Fish Fry, Blood
Drive, Soccer Challenge, Backpack Drive, Gifts for Troops,
Coats for Kids).
